Math 8th Grade
First Semester
I went over the linear functions, parallel and perpendicular lines, as well as solving equations. It was a good review after coming back from the summer.
Second Semester
I learned about the exponential function (growth and decay factor/rate), the laws of exponents, symmetry and transformations (line reflections, rotational symmetry, translation, and dilation) as well as a little bit of quadratic functions.
Project; In partnerships, we had to create a design using symmetry and transformations. The ending result was this: |
Third Semester
I learned about the quadratic function, factoring a quadratic expression, finding volumes of spheres, hemispheres, cylinders, and cones, proving conjectures, Pythagorean theorem, square root function, rational & irrational numbers, solving and deriving systems of equations and inequalities, domain and range, interval notation and inverse variation.

Fourth Semester
I learned about the vertical line test/what makes a function a function, arithmetic and geometric sequences, writing direct or explicit rules for the sequences, completing the square to find the roots of a quadratic function, vertex form of quadratic functions, the quadratic formula.
