In this assignment, students were to define the terms "technology" and "science". Then we have to state the differences and their interrelationships.
Through this assignment, I learned that technology actually came from science. Science plays a big role in technology. Without science, there wouldn't be much technology.

10/7/14 In today's class, I learned that when creating a presentation, the pages should have the main ideas and should not be full of words. I also learned what the AUDIENCE formula was and basically, that is a formula that explains how you should present your presentation by trying to understand your audiences' mind.
10/14/14 In today's class, I learned that John Gerrard came up with this brilliant idea of using solar thermal power and 10,000 mirrors to create a simulation of the movements of the sun, moon and stars.
10/21/14 In today's class, I learned a lot about Chuseok when I was doing class research and I also learned that if you try downloading a program like Google Drive, the file will not be saved on your H:Drive but the local computer.
10/28/14 In today's class, I learned that a power point presentation is capable of having a GIF; I thought the presentations can only support images! Another thing I learned is that tweening is when the frames of an animation or GIF (for example) is being made so that when the first frame changes into the second, it would change smoothly and perfectly.
11/4/14 & 11/11/14 No school
11/18/14 In today's class I learned that back then; about 25 years ago, one slide of a presentation actually needed money. That's why presentations back then were all crammed up but today, we have FREE, NO MONEY slides. Therefore, technology advanced magnificently.
11/25/14 In today's class, I learned how to use timings for slides in Open Office. I also learned that there is no option to compress files/images in this program because in the Help option, there is no mentions about compressing files.
12/2/14 In today's class I learned that you can change the width of spacing in between columns when making a brochure. To do this:
Go to MWord<Page Layout<Columns<More Columns<Select Columns in Presets section or type the amount if you want more than 3 columns<In the section of widths and spacing you can change the spacing by selecting the "Spacing" box and type in the value
If you want to apply on all parts of the document, remember to do so
(Apply To<Whole Document)
Then press enter key or Ok.

12/9/14 In today's class I learned that doing programming (Code) sometimes can take a while to solve so that your subject can accomplish its goal. Through observations of patterns you can make more specific commands that will not require you to instruct the commands over and over again and make your life easier.
12/16/14 In today's class I learned that when using the columns in Word and you include the lines, you can only see the lines if you have context. The lines will appear as you include in more text.
12/23/14 In today's class I learned that if you want your number list in word document to line up accordingly to the periods like this:
you have to firstly select all the contents of the number list, then to the right of the numbering Home<Paragraph<Numbering (has the icon of a number list)<Click the little arrow right of the Numbering option<Click Define New Number Format<Go to Alignment<Click the down arrow button next to Alignment box< select Right in the drop down menu<Select OK
12/30/14 Winter Break; No School
1/6/15 There was a workshop about Social Media Safety that took up the class period. During that something I learned that flamers are people who "add fire" to the problem they see and make situations for the person being bullied worse.
1/13/15 In today's class, something I learned was a shortcut command in Microsoft Word Document; if you want your text to be single spaced, you press Ctrl+One
If you want double-spacing, you press Ctrl+2 and 1.5: Ctrl+5
If you want double-spacing, you press Ctrl+2 and 1.5: Ctrl+5
1/20/15 In today's class, something I learned was that in MS Word program, there is there are Alt shortcut keys and if you press Alt+F, it will locate you to the file menu and it will indicate which Alt shortcut keys will give you what.
1/27/15 -Snow Day School Cancelled-
2/3/15 In today's class, we worked on practising typing and making up our 2nd Marking Period work. Through the typing practice I was able to achieve a pretty satisfactory typing score. Practising really does give you the best.
2/10/15 Today, we learned about tab stops. I think this tab stop method is very useful and I can now create more different types of documents with less difficulty; more ease.
2/17/15 -No Class; Mid Winter Break-
2/24/15 Today, we continued working on Microsoft Tab Stops. Before I was introduced to this aspect of MS, I never really noticed the tabs stops. But now, I know the differences between a left tab, right tab, decimal tab, bar tab, and center tab. I think these tabs really save me a lot of time for future uses in MS because I won't have to constantly press the enter key and these can be useful to make menus or to organise text.
3/3/15 In today's class, we reviewed what projects we could do for our Independent Mini Projects. I learned that there are many brilliant projects that can be started with just a simple question that can soon develop into a big question.
3/10/15 In today's class I learned about a website called O'Reilly Media and Safari Books Online ( https://schools.safaribooksonline.com/ ). I never knew there was this website that had SO much tutoring books on a variety of subjects.
3/17/15 In today's class we joined another EverFi class. I learned that an Entrepreneur is a person who starts the business, organizing the business by going through some risks, and deciding on the businesses actions.
3/24/15 Today, we did a typing assessment; I re-learned that practising is really essential for us to be good at the things we are doing. At first, I scored an unsatisfactory typing rate but after practises, I got to a pretty decent typing score.
3/31/15 Today, I learned CAPOW which is a way to check the credibility of the sources you are using.
Currency- The date of when the source was publish can determine if the source is credible if the date publish is recent. I learned that if the source is revised or published more than 3 years ago, you might want to check another source.
Authorship- Checking who wrote the page is important because you don't want to get false information from a person who has no sufficient knowledge in the subject.
Purpose- To determine if the source is credible, ask yourself who is the targeted audience of the author/source? Is the source meant for entertainment or informational means?
Objectivity- If the source is biased, you might want to get another source because the opinions might not be what everyone thinks.
Writing Style- To strengthen the sources credibility, look for the bibliography of the source.
Although I kind of disagree with the "Objectivity" part (because if you look from a biased person's point of view you can get a better understanding of the event/subject; for example, in the mock trial of Social Studies, if you saw the thoughts of the defendants side, that might cause you to find more reasoning), the whole CAPOW idea is quite helpful.

4/7/15 -- No school; Easter Break--
4/14/15 -- No class; State Testing --
4/21/15 -- Sub Class --
4/28/15 In today's class we reviewed on the aspects of CAPOW, citation and researching skills. I learned that by citing the source the chance of you getting a better grade is higher compared to another who just simply Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V from a website. Additionally, by citing sources, I am able to give the provider of the facts their deserved credit for working hard to acquire those facts. And lastly, I learned that plagiarism is a big deal and you can even get expelled in college if you plagiarize on a report/assignment.
5/5/15 In today's class, I learned an interesting math concept/game called, "Magic Squares". The point of this game was to have all the rows, columns and diagonals add up to the same number using the numbers provided and/or different table formats. Afterwards, I learned how to adjust the width and height of a cell in Excel to make it look like a square. Additionally, I learned how to fill in the cell with a color along with bordering the squares. And lastly, I learned that you can write a formula by firstly selecting a cell, then enter the ' = ' key and then click on the cell you want to add the value of and then press ' + ' and then press another cell. By pressing enter, any value added in those selected cells will be added and the sum will be shown on the cell that the formula was written in. I think it's a pretty neat skill.
5/12/15 -- No class; PAT Test --
5/19/15 Today, I learned more about the features of Microsoft Excel. I learned that not only can you continue a series of list by using the fill handle which can make a list continue ascending. For example, if you type the number 1 into a cell and then 2 in the following cell, and then select those two cells and drag the fill handle, a list of consecutive numbers will appear in ascending order, the list ending in the value of the number of cells you have dragged. I think this really saves time in making lists.
5/26/15 Today, we did the typing assessment. I learned that it is always beneficial to practise your skills so that your skills will not deteriorate as time passes.
6/2/15 Today, we did an Excel Performance Test, I learned how to calculate the average of a set of cells data (number): =AVERAGE(Cell A, Cell B) The cells in the parentheses represent the range of the cells, so it could calculate the average of the specific cells. This is helpful because by doing this, you don't need to use the calculator, type all the data in and divide it by the count of the data. Excel saves time.
6/9/15 Today in class, students worked on any assignments we did not complete for the semester. I learned that it is always better to complete your assignments early so that you leave extra time for the activities you enjoy.
